The road so far.
Javokhir Sindarov learned the game from his grandfather at four and a half and was a grandmaster at twelve, the second-youngest in history at the time. With the Uzbek team he won Olympiad gold in Chennai in 2022.
In 2025 he became the youngest and the first Uzbek winner of the Chess World Cup, and in 2026 he won the Candidates with an undefeated 10/14. He travels to Geneva as the challenger and with the higher rating.
