Why the Bogner Chess Academy?
Share knowledge. Empower coaches. Develop the next generation.
As a Grandmaster and three-time Swiss Champion, I have accumulated over 20 years of experience in elite chess. But one realization has stayed with me throughout: this knowledge means little if it isn't passed on to the next generation.
In my career as a youth coach, I have seen how children and young people don't just become better players through chess — they learn to think more clearly, act more patiently, and handle setbacks with resilience. But as an active player and national team member, my hours are limited. I simply cannot teach every student myself — no matter how much I would like to.
That's why I founded the Bogner Chess Academy: a platform that makes my knowledge scalable. Not by teaching more myself, but by training other coaches, providing them with my methods and materials, and empowering them to develop young players at the highest level.
The academy is my way of giving more children access to professional chess training — regardless of whether I'm personally sitting at the board. Because the best investment in the future of chess isn't a single Grandmaster, but a network of excellently trained coaches.
More than a chess school.
“A single Grandmaster can teach a hundred children. But ten trained coaches can reach a thousand. That is the idea behind the Bogner Chess Academy.”
Train coaches
We pass our knowledge on to dedicated chess coaches — with proven teaching methods, materials, and visualization techniques refined over years.
Multiply knowledge
Every trained coach can teach dozens of students. This way, a Grandmaster's knowledge reaches an entire generation of young players.
Develop children
At the center of everything is the next generation. Chess develops strategic thinking, patience, and decision-making — skills that extend far beyond the board.
