About the Open Pula
The Open Pula is one of Croatia's longest-running chess festivals, organised since 1988 by the Pula Chess Club (ŠK Pula, founded 1949). It is known for its large, international field and the blend of classical tournament chess with an Adriatic holiday. It is played in Pula, the largest city in Istria, whose landmark is a fully preserved Roman amphitheatre from the 1st century.
